Nintendo of America recently dropped the First Look trailer for their next-gen handheld console the Switch 2 after months of leaks and rumors stirring about the X-sphere and reddit forums. No official release date was given but the expected launch day will be in 2025 as per the final moments of the trailer.
The trailer mostly showcased the physical redesign of the larger display and new improved joycons with some added functionality that will make play more enjoyable.
There’s a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ sneak peak at a possible new Mario Cart game, and it’s confirmed that Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with Switch 1 titles which means trading in your switch 1 toward the upgrade is a no-brainer and will be very helpful in edging the cost of a new console in today’s economy. For this we are very grateful.
The trailer also mentioned future ‘Nintendo Switch 2 Experience’ popups and in-person experiences prior to release so stay posted for details on those.
