Gamestop CANCELS Pokemon Preorders

As of February 23, 2025, GameStop has announced the discontinuation of pre-orders for Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products. This change means that customers will no longer be able to reserve upcoming Pokémon TCG items in advance. Instead, purchases will operate on a first-come, first-served basis upon release. This policy shift may impact collectors and players who rely on pre-orders to secure new releases. It’s advisable to check with local GameStop stores for availability or consider alternative retailers for pre-order options.

We are hopeful that the recent surge of hype will soon taper off and things will go back to normal, but as for when that will happen… we don’t know.

GameStop Discontinues Pokémon TCG Pre-orders
GameStop will no longer offer pre-orders for Pokémon TCG products, and will be implementing purchase limits on select SKUs. Our goal is to ensure more fans have the opportunity to experience these exciting releases, rather than limiting access to early buyers and resellers.
Additionally,
GameStop will offer free
card savers and sleeves for PSA grading submissions on launch weekends at our Rip and Submit events. Find a PSA center near you at gamestop.com/psa
