Shining Revelry Set Announced for Pokémon TCG Pocket
As if Pokemon fever isn’t strong enough with Prismatic Evolutions, Journey Together AND Destined Rivals (yes we’re still salty about the current scalper atmosphere) – TCG Pocket has decided we’re due for a new set and oh my goodness It. Is. SHINY! Slated to launch next Thursday, this feels like the proactive consolation prize for the fact that real fans probably won’t be able to get their hands on Journey Together.
And all I can say is that I’m happy that Shiny Charizard isn’t a printed card because it would push the Pokemon fever over the edge, because FANG WANT! Also, that Tatsugiri is intense in the best way. We’re pretty excited and can’t wait to see the full set list and where this new card rarity lands amongst the current grouping – is it more rare than a gold card which is a ♚?
Highlights include:
- New rarity Symbol: ✸✸ (double eight pointed star)
- New Booster Pack: Shining Revelry (110+ cards, includes Shiny Pokémon)
- Featured Cards: Charizard ex, Lucario ex, Pachirisu
The Shining Revelry expansion marks the first appearance of Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Over 110 cards will be added, including Shiny versions of fan-favorite Pokémon like Charizard ex and Lucario ex. The set also debuts content from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including Gen 9 Pokémon and characters.
This update marks the launch of Ranked Matches, starting March 27 and running through April 26. Players will compete globally against opponents of similar skill levels and receive emblems based on their final rankings. Alongside this, a new ex Starter Deck mission event will reward players with one of nine starter decks, each containing 20 cards.
